5th December: International Volunteer Day

Our Quality Improvement Sub-Committee (QISC) Away Day was by coincidence held on International Volunteer Day. It gave us a greater opportunity to celebrate our volunteers, and all the good work they have done for the organisation over the past year.

Valuing our Volunteers

It’s important not to understate the importance of our volunteers, who add value to Healthwatch Hertfordshire and ensure that we can improve services in the county with their leadership and help. With Enter and View volunteers we covered 14 dental surgeries, as well as two acute hospital trusts, and four care homes. Not all of the reports for those visits are on our website yet, but they will be published very soon.

In addition, we attended a number of events supported by our new Engagement Volunteers and Community Ambassadors. We plan to expand our cohort so that we can attend as many events across the county as possible. Patient feedback is crucial to the work that we do, and the more we receive, the higher quality feedback we can give to the service providers from you – service users.
