COVID-19 Vaccination – Book your appointment if eligible

To ensure that everyone who is most at risk from COVID-19 can get protected as quickly as possible, the NHS is calling those in the first four priority groups to contact and book their vaccine, if they haven’t got an appointment yet.

Is this you?

The first four priority groups are:

  • everyone aged 70 or over
  • those who are clinically extremely vulnerable, and
  • frontline health and social care staff

If you, or somebody you know, meets this description, you can book your appointment without needing to wait for an invitation. You can book your COVID-19 vaccination via:

Calling 119 if you are unable to get online. You can call 119 free of charge Monday to Sunday between 7:00am and 11:00pm.

If a suitable slot is not available, you can call your GP practice for an appointment at your local GP-led site.

How to get support

Transport support

If you are unable to make your own transport arrangements, or need help organising transport to your appointment:

you can call 0300 790 6254 Monday to Saturday between 9:00am and 5:00pm to ask about the support that is available.

People who are housebound

The process of vaccinating people in Hertfordshire who are housebound is underway. GPs and local community trusts are contacting those who are housebound, or the carers who look after them, to arrange for them to be given their COVID-19 vaccination at home.

If you, or someone you know, is housebound and has not been contacted about receiving the COVID-19 vaccination, please contact your GP practice and arrangements will be made to have the vaccine at home.

Continue to follow the guidance

Remember, like everyone else, people who have received their first or second vaccination must continue to observe government guidance to slow the spread of the virus by:

  • adhering to the national lockdown rules
  • hand-washing thoroughly and regularly
  • wearing a face covering in line with guidance, unless you are exempt
  • maintaining social distancing
  • observing the ‘Stay at Home’ guidance.

You can find out more about the COVID-19 vaccination programme, including why some people are being asked to wait, here.
