National Award Nomination

This year we are happy to announce that once again we were shortlisted for one of the prestigious Healthwatch England Network Awards.

#ItStartsWithYou

This time we really can’t take all the credit. The award category is called #ItStartsWithYou, and its aim is to ‘celebrate people who have passionately worked towards improving health and care for their community.’ The work done by the Families of Nascot Lawn, is what is being celebrated. We’ve been fortunate to work with them, and also with the council, providers, and commissioners, to try and ensure that their views and voices are heard.

The ceremony was held at the Healthwatch England National Conference on October 3rd, with the award eventually going to Tony Bentley, who was nominated by Healthwatch County Durham for his work on helping with access to care homes.

The Families of Nascot Lawn may not have won, but their work, Highly Commended by Healthwatch England, has had a lasting effect not just within the county, but across the country.
